On Friday 13th August the Grade 4’s went on their annual walk to the darn in Gesiggie Street. It was a beautiful dan and we left Arbor at 8h30 with a very excited group for Grade 4’s. Along the way we stopped (in a very safe place) for the learners to complete a transport survey for Social Sciences. There was much excitement as the various vehicles they were counting went past.
When we arrived at the dam, the learners set out their picnic blankets and food and
enjoyed a lovely picnic. Afterwards they put their gloves on and started picking
up litter! We were all shocked to see the amount of little they picked up. Many
black bags were filled! Then they had time to play on the see-
It is always good to observe the learners outside of a school setting. The walk back to Arbor was definitely a quieter one!
Much fun was had by both learners and educators alike!
The Zoo visited Arbor on the 17th of August. The learners enjoyed seeing the variety of animals.
